MORE ABOUT THE DEAR SIR(S) PROJECT

Experience Counts!

Who and What

After our Founder was interviewed in September 2020 by the Law Institute Journal, Carol Grimshaw put to work her extensive experience and education in history, politics, law, human rights and international relations, and psychology, thinking about how inequality could still exist in the 21st century.

On the back of the Law Institute Journal's article, Carol founded The Dear Sir(s) Project in January 2021. Since then we've been earnestly researching the causes of inequality in the legal profession and beyond. We've learned and laughed, attended fabulous events to spread the equality word, delivered some amazing content, had changes to our wholly volunteer team, and talked with some big industry players.

We've grown a small and adored community who understand the importance of merit in professions driven by excellence.

Walking that Talk

We resolved to provide the training you've been craving: not just the usual 'i' dotting and 't' crossing dry biscuit and pot coffee paper cup adventure.

Our Team

We're backed by our Founder's industry experience, and the collective experience of the volunteer lawyers, paralegals and students that make up The Dear Sir(s) Project. That means we've got well over 70 years amongst us, so we know what it is to be female, CIS gendered, non-WASP, queer, intersectional, and junior in patriarchal, hierarchical industries that still struggle with practiced equality and the other 'f' word - feminism.

Values Matter

Once you've attended our training, you'll be armed with the knowledge required to help create change for you, your contemporaries and future generations whom all deserve to be ethically assessed on merit for their work, instead of other (unlawful) characteristics. You'll be empowered to express your values in your workplace through your recently acquired knowledge.
